Sending long text in Telegram without a cut
Rich messages, Telegraph and splitting into parts: what to pick for a long read, a guide or a breakdown.
A plain message stops at 4096 characters, a caption under a picture at 1024. Past that you have three routes, each with a price.
Split into parts
Always works, but the subscriber gets several notifications and the second part reads poorly without the first. Fine when the text naturally breaks into standalone pieces.
Move it to Telegraph or a website
The classic for long reads: an announcement and a link in the channel. Upside — unlimited length and proper typography. Downside — a click that loses part of the readers, and analytics that live outside Telegram.
A rich message
Telegram’s format for up to 32,768 characters: headings, lists, tables, collapsible blocks, media inside the text and buttons underneath. One notification, everything inside the messenger, and the link points at the channel itself.
Good for guides, breakdowns and digests where you want the reader to finish without leaving.
What to keep in mind
Such a post is not endlessly editable: text edits work, but the block structure is fixed when it is sent.
And do not turn a note into a long read: length does not make text more useful. The rich format earns its place where the content genuinely needs structure.
