Recurring Telegram posts: rubrics that publish themselves
Weekly rubrics, digests and reminders — how to set repeats without silent skips in short months.
A rubric stops being a rubric the first time it is forgotten. Scheduled repeats solve that more reliably than discipline.
Three kinds of repeats
By weekday. “Every Tuesday at 09:00” — the most common case: a digest, a breakdown, a roundup.
By day of month. A report on the 1st, a payment reminder on the 25th. There is a trap here: the 29th, 30th and 31st do not exist every month. A decent scheduler moves such a post to the last day instead of skipping silently — otherwise the rubric vanishes every February without warning.
Every N days. Handy for alternating formats: every third day, every tenth.
What matters more than the schedule itself
Time zone. “Every Tuesday at 09:00” must stay nine o’clock after the clocks change. If the scheduler stores an offset (+3) instead of a zone name (Europe/Moscow), your posts drift by an hour every spring.
Skip, do not catch up. If the service was down for four hours, the morning digest at 1 pm is pointless. Sensible behaviour: skip that occurrence and publish the next one on time.
The content. A repeat sends the same text. Fine for “good morning”, wrong for a digest — there you need a reminder to yourself, not a repeat.
How it works here
Repeats are set on the same screen as a one-off post: weekly, by days of the month or every N days, with the time in your profile zone. Occurrences more than two hours late are skipped. See the scheduler page.
